For the first time in Fortnite history, players will be able to customize the Chapter 2 Season 2 Battle Pass. The theme for this season is "Top Secret," and the Battle Pass plays right into it by allowing players to choose the Ghost or Shadow skin variations.
At the launch of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, the choice between Shadow or Ghost, doesn't really have any major bearing on the story. However, the Battle Pass trailer teased that the Ghost vs Shadow rivalry might eventually play a big role in the fate of the island.
Further, there is also a Ghost vs Shadow area in the new Battle Pass menu, but at the time of writing it's inaccessible and reads "Coming Soon."
With the new customizable Battle Pass, players will be able to select Ghost or Shadow skin variations. This is a big decision, because it will determine the look of your skin for the rest of the season.

As you can see, the Ghost skins are mostly white, lighter colors while the Shadow skins tend to be heavier, black colors.
